I felt very honoured to be asked to judge and appreciated the good entry which included plenty of quality exhibits. I must thank the officers and committee for their kind hospitality and I am grateful to the friendly and efficient stewards who helped me through the day.
Minor Puppy Dog (5, 1a) 1st Topliss' Peasblossom Escape to Beresford BPD. Well proportion baby, has nice rib and bone, good shoulders, good in loin which attaches a really nice body to a good backend. Straight front with forechest, good angulation and neat hocks. Wants some more definition in head, but I think that will come with time. Moved well on very neat feet. 2nd Tattersalls' Cresmore Vimeria at Alanea TAF Promising 8 month old with good body and bone. Bit sloppy in front at the moment but hopefully will get it together in time 3rd Bott & Allens' Dexbenella Sea The Stars with Allenie 4tj Joyces' Shelcasrie Head Over Heels
Puppy Dog (6) 1st Shovels' Tiverstone Black French (b/w) - Very good overall and I was taken with his head and kind eye. Makes a very good outline with good angulation in shoulder and hindquarters. Difficult to fault, has adequate bone and moved well. 2nd Cokells' Trimere Transition to Carlyquinn There is a lot to like about this dog. He has a good deal of maturity for his age and has a very pleasing head. Good body, bone, front end construction and feet. Moves with some style but rather slack at the back when stood. 3rd Mitchells' Heulyn Intoxication 4th Larges' Mompesson Flawless 5th Marshalls' Tiverstone Black Mickey
Junior Dog (5) 1st Guys' Calvdale False Arrest Nicely presented and tidy on the move. Is impressive in outline, with adequate bone and good feet. Head is balanced, expression is pleasing with good depth in forface. Good reach of neck. Shoulder placement is good and topline is firm both standing and on the move 2nd Walkers' Dexbenella Ollie Magern Nice type and has a lot of quality. His head is not his fortune at the moment and he is a little loose in front. 3rd Happs' Jorobaden Alderniti of Emianna JW 4th Houses' Gleadsbury Whatshisname 5th Wildsmiths' Trimere Time Trail with Sandibeck
Yealing Dog (7) 1st Topliss' Petranella Perfick Choice for Beresford Very classy young man and has that little something extra to focus your interest. Quality throughout. Really liked his head, expression and was impressed with his movement. Will be very surprised if he does not go all the way! 2nd Jacksons' Mompesson Cavendish Lacks a little maturity, this was not helped by meeting this class winner. Liked his head, well balanced outline, nothing much to fault and provides a good overall package. Moves soundly but seemed to loose his neck on the move 3rd Walkers' Petranella Perfickly Frank with Dexbenella JW ShCM 4th Tracz's Meadowdale Alabama Slammer at Acregate 5th Stevensons' Gaolachcara Oghma
Maiden Dog (3) 1st Larges' Mompesson Flawless Moved o.k. and has a good body. Still only a puppy and is very raw 2nd Attwells' Feorlig Zero Tolerance 3rd Attwell & Glossops' Feorlig You're The Tops
Novice Dog (2) 1st Attwells' Feorlig Zero Tolerance 2nd Attwell & Glossops' Feorlig You're The Tops
Undergraduate Dog (3) 1st Walkers' Dexbenella Ollie Magern 2nd House's Gleadsbury Whatshisname Nice outline with good body, bone and feet. Moves o.k. 3rd Stevensons' Gaolachcara Somhlth
Graduate Dog (3, 1a) 1st Traczs' Meadowdale Alabama Slammer at Acregate Has good substance and moves soundly. Would like to see more definition in head 2nd Walkers' Dexbenella Ollie Magern
Post Graduate Dog (6, 1a) 1st Shovels' Tiverstone Kingston Black Well constructed black & white with enough bone, could do with a little more substance all round to offer a more masculine package, nice eye but just a tad strong across top of head for me. Moved steadily 2nd Happs' Beresford Beat The Clock with Emianna Decent type with good outline but rather throaty. 3rd Woolhouses' Cherishym Outlaw 4th Attwells' Feorlig Zero Tolerance 5th Attwell & Glossops' Feorlig You're The Tops
Mid Limit Dog (4) 1st Jacksons' Mompesson Striker Presents a good symmetrical outline, head is masculine and not overdone, good reach of neck flowing into good shoulders and front. Has good hind angulation with nice tidy hocks. Moves with reach and drive. 2nd Warreners' Cepen Changing Places with Waterswarren JW This dog has style and shows himself really well. An awful lot to like about him but for me is too strong in head. 3rd Traczs' Meadowdale Alabama Slammer at Acregate 4th Reynolds' Clentonian Masterpiece
Limit Dog (6, 1a) 1st Houses' Gleadsbury Whatacracker JW ShCM Not much between the first four in this class. Nothing flashy but good sound honest dog. Compact in type with good depth of chest. Good body and strength in loin. Very acceptable head and expression. Moves o.k 2nd Bashforths' Alanea Warrior of Jorobaden Liked his head and the overall outline. Just prefered the front on the winner. 3rd Grays' Trimere Talk It Up 4th Guys' Calvdale John O'Connor 5th Richardsons' Cherishym Bright Knight
Open Dog (4) 1st Bott & Allens' Sh Ch Timere Talking Point of Allenie JW ShCM C.C. & BIS. Just out of interest I looked up what I had written about this dog after giving him best puppy at Bournemouth 2 ½ years ago, I was impressed then, although I thought his head needed more fluting and chiseling. Time has been on his side and I was pleased to see how his head has obtained the definition that was previously lacking. He has a good body with forechest and depth, plenty of strength in loin. Good shoulder placement behind elegant neckline, solid topline leading into a good strong backend. Has just the right amount of bone and moves soundly on very tight feet. They say every dog has his day, on this evidence he ought to have a good few more. 2nd Mitchells' Sh Ch Barecho Hold Your Horses at Peasblossom JW (Imp Swe) Has earned his title since last judging him and has matured nicely. Size, bone, body all in very good proportion. There is nothing flashy about him but is a good honest dog with a pleasing head, lovely dark eye and nothing out of place standing or on the move 3rd Grays' Trimere Top Score ShCM 4th Eyeingtons'Trinitas Newky Brown of Meadowdale JW ShCM
Veteran Dog (2) 1st Calverts' Sh Ch Calvdale Softly Softly JW Res CC - Still in great shape at 7. Compact type and well proportioned. Well defined head with very kind eyes. Excellent in neck and topline. Super body with depth and spring of rib. Good forechest, strong in loin with good width across hindquaters. Still moves really well on good tight feet. 2nd Mitchells' Heulyn Flambeau Rangier in type. Moved very positively around the ring and in fine shape for his 9 years.
Jimmy Cudworth Memorial Stakes Open (2) 1st Grays' Trimere Talk It Up 3rd in a good limit class. Good type and overall shape. Nice head and eye. Slightly tucked up in loin and just a bit loose in front 2nd Walkers' Dexbenella Ollie Magern
Good Citizen Dog Scheme (3, 1a) 1st Tracz's Meadowdale Alabama Slammer at Acregate 2nd Woolhouses' Cherishym Outlaw
Minor Puppy Bitch (5, 2a) 1st Cokells' Carlyquinn Classic Line BPIS - Very raw but I was really taken with this one. Has the basic credentials and is very feminine. Pleasing head with good width of muzzle and depth of flew. Good reach of neck and well set shoulders. Good body for age, substance in loin and width in thigh. Has good angulation and adequate bone. 2nd Jenkinsons' Eastriding Femme Moved particularly well for a baby. Nice outline needs to drop into herself 3rd Mitchells' Peasblossom Embrace
Puppy Bitch (3) 1st Cokells Carlyquinn Classic Line 2nd Corbetts' Trimere Tranquiliser Pretty puppy. Good body and shoulders. Would like to see more bone but moved very freely. 3rd Lockharts' Chetruda Silent Destiny
Junior Bitch (12, 3a) 1st Smiths' Melverly Rhianna Nothing flashy and her head markings give a rather plain appearance. Nevertheless she has a very feminine head. She is well put together and moves soundly. Could do with a little more overall condition 2nd Walkers' Dexbenella Elusive Dream Nice type and very feminine. Nice neck and shoulders. Good hind angulation and neat hocks. Moved soundly. 3rd McCourts' Woodspa Eucalyptus 4th Savells' Harvancourt Perfickly Fab with Petranella 5th Bott & allens' Petranella Perfick Hussey of Allenie
Yearling Bitch (6) 1st Topliss' Beresford Kiss N Tell Well bodied and boned, perhaps a little ‘butch' maybe, but has super outline. Balanced head and pleasant expression. Good neck and shoulders. Good hind angulation and lovely tight feet. 2nd Walkers' Dexbenella Eluzive Dream 3rd Jacksons' Mompesson Paper N Lace 4th Stevensons' Gaolachcara Cliodna JW ShCM 5th Rostrons' Ziphill Memphis Girl
Maiden Bitch (2, 1a) 1st Bott & Allens' Petranella Perfick Hussey of Allenie Her lack of maturity cost her a better position in the junior class and just a little long cast for me.
Novice Bitch (6) 1st Walkers' Dexbenella Oki Doki Overall outline is balanced. Good depth of chest and width in loin. Good hind anglulation with neat hocks. Pleasing head with kind eye but rather lacks in width of foreface. Moves very freely. 2nd Savells' Harvancourt Perfickly Fab with Petranella 3rd Bott & Allens' Petranella Perfick Hussey of Allenie 4th Corbetts' Trimere Tantiliser 5th Rostrons' Ziphill Memphis Girl
Undergraduate Bitch (6) 1st Walkers' Dexbenella Elusive Dream 2nd McCourts' Woodspa Eucalyptus Well proportioned. Good body. Moves soundly 3rd Naylors' Bridies Bridget Jones 4th Savells' Harvancourt Perfickly Fab with Petranella 5th Bott & Allens' Petranella Perfick Hussey of Allenie
Graduate Bitch (3) 1st Cokells' Trimere Thrills And Frills JW Trimere Thrills And Frills JW - Really liked this bitch and I am sure her day will come. Well balanced head with good breadth and depth of muzzle, expressive eye. Plenty of forechest, good rib with depth of chest and substance in loin, all these attributes sadly lacking in many these days. Arched neck going into well laid shoulders and elbows neatly fitted into body. Firm top line. In good coat and condition 2nd Walkers' Dexbenella Elusive Dream 3rd Hollenders' Melvemore Gold Seal at Scoutwell
Post Graduate Bitch (5, 1a) 1st Jacksons' Mompesson Celebrity They say markings do not matter, yes of course, but you get a very different impression of this bitch from either side. When moving you get a solid liver marking on the side of her face which, for me, tends to distract and upset the overall picture. However when stood she provides a well balanced outline. She has a balanced head with good proportions, well laid shoulders, nice angulation and bone. Solid topline but would like to see a little more forechest and depth of chest 2nd Topliss' Peasblossom Butterfly at Beresford Sound bitch and little to criticise, just preferred front and feet of winner. 3rd Naylors' Bridies Bridget Jones 4th Jenkinsons' Eastriding Intuition
Mid Limit Bitch (2) 1st Walkers' Dexbenella Drama Queen Judged her as a puppy and was impressed then. Very elegant but still needs a little something to finish the picture. Nice head and neck with good rib and depth of chest. Well off for bone and good overall confirmation, but lets her topline go at times when standing 2nd Tattersalls' Alanea Elegance Pretty good credentials. More solid in type than the winner and with a lot to like but she also lost her topline and was not so positive on the move
Limit Bitch (10, 2a) 1st Shovells' Tiverstone Dreammaker Perhaps not the most stylish but is a good overall package. Has adequate bone and substance, sometimes lacking in black & whites, moved soundly. I loved her beautiful head and expression 2nd Houses' Gleadsbury Whataliberty JW Nice compact type with decent body and strong quarters. Has bone and substance and a very pleasing head and expression. Moves very soundly 3rd Camerons' Donarden Foxy Lady 4th Bashforths' Alanea Charade of Jorobaden 5th Jacksons' Mompesson Shameless
Open Bitch (6) 1st Smiths' Sh Ch Melverly Sublimity C.C. & RBIS - A little bit special to say the least. So feminine, elegant in outline from the tip of her nose to the end of her tail, it all just flows together. Good bone and ideal substance. Nice rib and good depth of chest, good quarters, lovely bone and feet. Very good head and expression. Does just about enough on the move, albeit, very soundly. Would just like to feel a little more muscle tone 2nd Savell's Petranella Perfickly Dealt JW ShCM Res C.C.- Another cracking bitch and I did prefer her head and expression to the winner. She has excellent construction, although not quite so well balanced in outline which was what separated them for me today. 3rd Jenkinsons' Sh Ch Ir Sh Ch Eastriding Armani 4th McCourts' Calvdale The Jury's Out with Woodspa 5th Eyeingtons' Meadowdale Aurora JW
Veteran Bitch (2, 1a) 1st Warbricks' Parcroft Pretty Woman at Lyndberry Stood alone in this class. Very pretty in head, however lacks bone and substance.
Special Working Bitch (1) 1st Lockharts' Chetruda Krystal Rose Good type and good overall outline. Well up to size and sadly did not do her best on the move.
Jimmy Cudworth Memorial Stakes Open (2) 1st Walkers Dexbenella Elusive Dream 2nd McCourt's Eucalyptus
KC Good Citizen Dog Scheme (2) 1st Naylor's Beecraigs Beguiled by Bridies Very feminine bitch with good basic construction. Sweet head and expression. Would like to see a little more neck and bone 2nd Joyces Shelcasrie Lovers Leap
