English Springer Spaniel Club Field Trials 2008

The 16 dog 'Open' Stake was held on 8th December 2008 judged by Mr B A Jones & Mr R Rutherford.

The 16 dog 'Novice' Stake was held on 15th December 2008 judged by Mr G G Williams & Mr K Onions.

Both Stakes were held at the Nethersethey Shoot

The trials were held in woodland with bramble and bracken providing good cover for the dogs to work. Game came to hand very well. The Judges for both stakes commented on the excellent standard of dog work for those dogs in the awards. 

'The Late Joe Robinson Memorial Award' for the Guns Choice

A very special award was made for the 'Guns Choice' in each of the Stakes. This being an engraved whisky glass in memory of our past ESSC President Joe Robinson.

First. Mr I English's bitch - Helmsway Holly (this win makes Holly a Field Trial Champion. She had previously won one First & 6 Seconds) 

Second. Mr G Meehan's dog - Morfudd Mungo

Third. Mr G Wilson's dog - Hazyview of Witchwillows.

Fourth & 'Guns Choice' Mr D Anderson's bitch - Edwardiana Rainbow.

The 107th Open Stake for ESS was held on Monday 19th November 2007at the Nethersethay Farm Shoot.  

The Judges were Mr P Clulee and Mr M Taylor.

The 105th Novice Stake for ESS was held on Monday 26th November 2007 at the Nethersethay Farm Shoot.
